Cleaning Do's & Don'ts

• Never wipe your lenses when dry; minute particles may not be visible and could scratch your lenses

• Never use paper products on your lenses. Many contain contaminants that can scratch your lenses

• Never use sprays, like hairspray, when your lenses can be exposed

• Never use household cleaning products like ammonia or glass cleaners on your lenses; the chemicals in them can damage the lens coating

• Avoid extremes in temperatures, as contraction and expansion of your lenses and coatings may damage them

• Never lay your lenses face down. When possible store them in a case.

How to Care for AR lenses

Proper Cleaning Techniques Will Keep Your Lenses Looking Like New and Easily Remove Smudges and Fingerprints

Follow these easy steps.

Step 1 — rinse your lenses with water. This step will remove any particles that may not be visible to your eye that could potentially scratch your lenses.

Step 2 — spray your lenses with a cleaner designed for AR lenses. Remember to spray both sides of the lens. Do not use household cleaners, such as glass cleaners or ammonia, as they may contain arch chemicals that can actually damage the lens coating.

Step 3 — gently wipe your lenses using a microfiber or 100% cotton cloth. Most retailers sell these special lens-cleaning cloths. Never use paper products. Paper towels generally contain contaminants that can scratch the lens. Tissues will leave lint and anti-reflective coatings tend to attract these minute particles.

Step 4 — enjoy the cosmetic and optical advantages of AR lenses. By following the steps above, you and your lenses will always look your best.

Every AR lens wearer should have a lens case and a lens cleaning kit consisting of a microfiber or 100% cotton lens cloth and an AR lens cleaner in spray or bottle.
